The Ghana Health and Education Initiative focuses on community-based health and education programs to build a sustainable Ghana. Drawing from an interdisciplinary cohort of leaders and community members, it offers educational programming (i.e. for girls) and health (i.e. malaria prevention). In a country where diarrhea is responsible for 9% of deaths in children under 5, it works to increase handwashing with soap to prevent potential malnutrition or death stemming from poor sanitation and diarrhea.
