‘Its the time of year again when food is never far from our thoughts’!
On Monday, December 5, 2011, the French Embassy will host a one-day workshop on “French and American Perspectives on Food and Health”, featuring keynote speaker Marion Nestle.
This summit will bring together French and American experts and researchers from different academic disciplines as well as professional chefs, and government officials for a transatlantic perspective on this most elemental, though hardly simple, activity every human being must perform: feeding ourselves. It was inspired by an innovative three-year research collaboration, begun in 2009, between the University of California, Los Angeles and École des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales (EHESS). The program, 21st Century Cuisine, Nutrition and Genetics in France and the U.S., is supported by the French Embassy and the FACE Foundation (French American Cultural Exchange) through the Partner University Fund (PUF) .

This sounds like an event I would love to attend. But too bad I’m in California. Good luck with the event. If there are recorded web sessions, would love to see links updated on this post.

You must get word out to Richard Grausman, C-CAP – I know he’d be very interested if he isn’t already involved.
