STOP! Before You Eat Another Pork Chop: TidBit of the Day
Here at Zomppa, we have meat eaters, vegetarians, flexitarians, vegans. Whether people choose to eat meat or not (please no name calling), we must all be ever more cognizant of where our food comes from.
If you ever plan to eat bacon, a hot dog, or any kind of pig meat again, please watch this video that Andrew Sullivan posted yesterday. But WARNING, it is REALLY graphic. I’m not usually squeamish, but this made me squeamish. You won’t want to watch while you’re eating or in front of young children.
Sometimes we (myself included) have a tendency to say, oh, it’s just one slice of bacon…what difference would it make? Well, it can. So if you choose to eat meat, please make an effort to know how the animal was raised.
Pigs are NOT BOUNCY.

Ok, I could not watch the whole of that video, and like you, I wouldn’t really classify myself as squeamish. Whether you decide to eat meat or not to eat meat is not necessarily the question here, this is a terrible violation of animal rights and we should all be up and arms about such barbaric treatment. The disgraceful levels to which humanity is capable stooping, never ceases to amaze me. Whether it be this or the current situation in Syria.
I do my very best to find ethical sources for all our meat. But I know I don’t get it right everytime and also, that the time has come to significantly reduce our meat intake – all of our fellow creatures deserve better. Theresa
My husband is a vegetarian and I love meat, but I try to eat meat or poultry from local farms!Thank you for sharing!
We made it to 52 seconds. Then had to google “kittens”. Really important post! Thanks Belinda!
