Dame’s Chicken and Waffles: TidBit of the Day

| May 24, 2012 | 1 Comment

Have I mentioned Dame’s Chicken and Waffles before? I’m sure I have because I’ve eaten here since they opened.

Serving creative and classic chicken and waffles (it’s a Southern thing, I think….), this place is located in downtown Durham and the lines out the door on any day is a strong indicator of its food. The owner and the staff are ridiculous welcoming, making sure you knew how it worked at Dame’s….

You pick the kind of chicken (breast? leg? wing?), the kind of waffle (sweet potato? gingerbread? vegan?), and the kind of “schmear” (chocolate-nutella? maple-pecan? blueberry?)

Of course, you cannot forget about the sides, which, their mac ‘n’ cheese is one of the best I have ever, ever eaten.
