Western Growers Foundation: Class Act

| October 19, 2012 | 4 Comments

Western Growers Foundation seeks to “create an edible garden in every interested Arizona and California school.” Can you imagine why a school would not be interested?

For over 80 years, Western Growers has been compromised of farmers in the two states. The foundation is the association’s outreach program, having given over $700K to over 500 schools. Given that the association’s farmers pack and ship nearly half of the nation’s produce, it would be great to see the mission of their foundation fulfilled.

How wonderful. I love hands on education like this. Get the kiddos out there to the garden and they learn things in a fun way. Wish my kids’ school has a garden too.
