To many people the words “Farmer’s Market” sound like a place only crazy, health nut, organic hippies go to, but in reality the Farmer’s Market is for everyone! Your local Farmer’s Market is the perfect place to stock up on fresh produce and more often than not, it’s cheaper than it would be at the grocery store.
Shopping at the Farmer’s Market helps local farmers because they are the ones selling their crops there. It’s also nice to be able interact directly with the farmers growing the food you eat.
The farmers know their produce and can help you select the best produce and introduce you to new things you may have never thought to try. Farmers have a lot to offer us, I mean, their job is to keep us fed!
The Farmers Market is not only a place to buy produce, it is also a place for adults and children to learn about the food being grown around them. Local farmers at the market are always willing to educate their community on what they do and why they do it. Some farmers will even give you some fun tips and tricks on how to best prepare the produce you pick out. So head on over to your local Farmer’s Market and support your local farmers by buying some of their amazing produce and maybe learn a little something along the way.
