Breakfast is the first meal of the day and the most important meal of the day. We all have heard that it is the most important meal of the day, but why is this a commonly accepted truth.
For starters, a good breakfast gives you the energy you need to be able to get through the rest of the day.
Chances are you havejust woken up from a hopefully, peaceful slumber which may have lasted around eight hours (that’s what we’re all aiming for right?)
You need the energy breakfast provides to be able to wake your mind up and concentrate on that early morning meeting or whatever life has prepared for you .
Also, your last meal during dinnertime the night before; which is a really long time to go without eating anything so even if you don’t realize it your body is asking you to feed it when you wake up.
There are so many ways to have an easy, quick, and healthy breakfast:
- Whole grain bagels with cream cheese are an easy option; an added bonus is they are pretty portable for those of us constantly rushing out the door every morning.
- You can even prepare your breakfast the night before if that’s easier for your lifestyle. For example, you can make a yogurt parfait in a mason jar (or any other container) using fresh fruits, granola, and yogurt and just stick it in the fridge overnight.
- OATMEAL! (or farina, porridge, or whatever you fancy) This wonderful whole grain is packed with many nutrients and yummy goodness, be sure to add this into you and your family’s breakfast rotation.
Breakfast doesn’t have to be boring and it shouldn’t be a hassle; it should be a priority and you can make it fun and delicious while still being healthy.
